Jason Statham is one of the last true action stars in film. His movies tend to elicit the excitement and adrenaline-fueled rush that Schwarzenegger, Stallone, and Norris were so good at creating back in the 80s. What would Statham’s Flickchart look like? Let’s have a look, shall we?
1. The Bourne Identity – Matt Damon did a bang up job in this flick. I always thought I woulda been the perfect Jason Bourne. I’ve got the moves and the looks. Hey, what else is there?
2. The Expendables – It was an honour working with Sylvester, Arnold and Dolphas well as my old pal Jet-Li. My character was aces! Knives are right stabby, ain’t they?
3. The Fast and the Furious – I love cars. Especially fast cars. Vin Diesel’s got nothin’ on me. Well, maybe more muscles but that’s it. I could kick his ass.
4. Gone in 60 Seconds – Did I mention I love fast cars? Nic Cage looks about as tough as a bee without a stinger. Ahem! “Let’s Ride”. God, that sounds like I was made to say it.
5. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels – I gotta give a shout out to my first acting gig. Guy was a godsend giving me a part in Lock Stock. And I haven’t looked back since… is Guy still directing movies?
6. The Way of the Dragon - Bruce Lee was a great martial artist. Wing Chun is a kick ass martial art. Look at how hairy Chuck Norris was!
7. Rumble in the Bronx - Jackie Chan does his own stunts and so do I. You gotta keep it real. Much better that way. Imagine a film with me and Jackie…. Move over, Chris Tucker. We would make millions!
8. The Fellowship of the Ring – Let’s be honest. A Dungeon Siege Tale was crap. Fellowship has won tons of awards. All I got was Ron Perlman.
9. Transformers: Dark of the Moon – My honey, Rosie, was in this movie. Transformers had a lot of action, which was great. Michael Bay rocks! I’d love to work with him. I wonder how hard it would be to karate chop a robot?
10. Back to School – One of the few films that involves diving. I don’t mean to brag, but I was an awesome diver back in the day, so this one is a guilty pleasure. Rodney Dangerfield is a hoot!
